Restaurant Online Ordering & Menu System

The delivery apps were taking a punishing cut of every order and owning the customer relationship. We gave a neighborhood restaurant its own ordering site — quick, mobile-friendly, and commission-free — with orders printing straight in the kitchen.

// Problem

The challenge

Third-party ordering platforms charged double-digit commissions on every ticket and kept the customer data. For a small restaurant on thin margins, that's the difference between a good month and a bad one.

// Solution

What we built

A clean, self-owned ordering experience the restaurant fully controls.

  • A fast, mobile-first ordering site with a menu the owner can update in minutes
  • Secure card payments (Stripe) with pickup and delivery flows
  • Orders routed straight to a kitchen display / printer with clear tickets
  • No per-order commission and full ownership of the customer relationship
// Architecture

How it works

A lightweight Node.js app serves the menu and cart, takes payment through Stripe, and pushes confirmed orders to the kitchen in real time. Menu and availability are editable through a simple admin view, so 86'ing an item is instant.

// Outcome

Results

  • Commission on direct orders cut to zero — margin back in the owner's pocket
  • A mobile ordering experience customers actually finish
  • The restaurant owns its menu, its orders, and its customers
